Today was the CIBC Run for the Cure. My sister and I did the 5K run in honour of our Aunty who is fighting this disease. Our other sister is part of our team but something important came up for her last minute. She was with us in spirit!
The smoothie of the day is called "U-Pick Me Up". I thought this would be a perfect smoothie before the run, as it contains some brewed green tea as the liquid base but I didn't have enough time! (What an interesting idea - green tea). Anyway, the smoothie turned out well - nothing amazing but good enough! It's a real reminder how easy it can be to get a lot of servings of fruits and veggies into your body.
I also wanted to mention that the fruit I am using is largely frozen fruit. So I take it out and let it sit for a while so that it's not totally frozen when I blend it.
