Simple Green Smoothies - Day 8 (and School Lockdowns)

In the last school newsletter sent home, it mentioned there would be a lockdown this month and to let your children know about it. Having an anxious daughter to begin with, the news of the lockdown was of course a HUGE worry. At night, she has been worried about 'bad guys' coming into the house she has asked me more than a couple times "what do bad guys look like"? I hate that we live in a world where kids have to be subjected to the lockdown and must practice huddling in a corner of a classroom, being still and quiet and scared to death.

Every so often it just feels like the world is 'too much'. Too many horrible stories, too many horrendous things happening, and just not enough good. Today's a day that I feel like this. But I need to remind myself that the bad news is what makes front page and overall there is more good than evil. Still, I wonder just what the world will look like when my child has her own children. Will it have improved by then - and we are simply at a point where it's so bad that SOMETHING has to go the opposite way? Or will it continue to get worse?

A friend posted something today on their FB page and the take-away for me today is this: We all need to focus on doing good, and seeing the good where we are right now. Let's love each other and try to understand each other. Don't judge. Be kind. Please.

So the smoothie of the day was citrus based with a bit of banana. It was ok. Wouldn't rush out to make this one again, but I really am enjoying trying all these combinations! After the 30 days are up, I am going to pick a favourite and then come up with my own combo for you all to try. It MAY include chocolate. Not sure yet hahaha.
