I started up my Accountability Coaching
programs because as a C.H.N. I quickly realized that the problem wasn’t with
people being receptive to new meal plans and healthier ways of eating;
the problem was in the follow through.
Let me ask you: How many times have you
made a New Year’s Resolution to get healthier or lose weight? If it’s been more
than a couple of times, you need an accountability coach!
I’d like to share with you some excellent
advice given by Brendan Burchard.* (Brendan is the author of High Performance
Habits). He advises not to set New Year’s Resolutions to FIX problems. (As it’s reactive and not very
motivational). Rather, he advises that
you think about where you want to be in 1, 3 or 5, years; decide what skills
you need (which you may not have currently); and simply work backwards. This
places the focus on the SKILL and not the goal.
Instead of making another New Years goal to
“lose 20lbs”, what you really want is to develop the skills that make you a
naturally healthy person and all that that involves. (The weight loss comes
naturally). What you really need to do is develop better HABITS. We all know
that it’s not just about the food!
Some habits or skills that you may need
help with include:
- cooking at home more often or learning how to meal
prep
- not eating after 7pm
- eating more mindfully, chewing better, and digesting
properly
- navigating temptations and difficult situations around
food
- including exercise into your week
- sleeping better and handling stress more effectively
- ditching sugar
Accountability
coaching can help you with all of that. And this is why
I am so excited about the Accountability Coaching program I offer. I will
challenge you and motivate you. I will help you address the underlying problems
that are preventing you from achieving your goals. And most importantly, I am a
real human being that you will have DAILY interaction with!
This is not a quick fix diet; it helps you
develop desirable lifestyle habits.
It doesn’t involve special powders, juices,
or supplements; it’s a food-first approach. (Although there is nothing wrong
with using some of these things as tools).
It takes into account your own likes and
dislikes, and its all about helping you to live the healthiest life you can
ENJOY.
So let me ask you: What’s stopping you from
giving coaching a try on this Try This Tuesday?? J
